Globally there is a lot to criticize about the processing of discarded electronic equipment. When disposed or processed
improperly, e-waste pollutes the ground water, acidifies the soil, generates toxic fume and releases carcinogenic gas
after burning. There are hazardous substances in e-waste, with harmful adverse affects to the human health.
This is not only the case in developing countries. In Western Europe too, people are exposed to toxic emissions and substances
from 'professional' waste processors. Processing e-waste with the greatest possible care for people and the environment and
with maximum recovery of (critical) raw materials is a bitter necessity.
Circular Industries is an integrator of proven technologies that enable sustainable and circular extraction of raw materials from secondary sources (waste).
